Maria facilitated the collaborative community process that led to the completion of the beautiful mural “Respeta las Vedas” in Bahía de Kino, Sonora, Mexico. The project represents an intersection of art, community activism, and conservation. Her graceful, skilled and perceptive leadership gave life to the vision created by a group of passionate and committed community environmental leaders. I know that they will use the mural to promote sustainable fishing.
